River toad (Phrynoides asper) is a large toad with warty, dark brownish to blackish stout body. It has inconspicuous ‘x’ mark on the back between the round-to oval-shaped paratoid glands in young. This is the second largest of the Bufo genus in the region, after the Giant River Toad Phrynoidis juxtaspera.
